Truth is that a Pokémon is three stage ahead of the Digimon form the moment they hatch and they become even stronger to survive in wild since they doesn't has nursery to raise them like Digimon.
Ash's Riolu defeated an Onix few hours after hatching which is at least on per with champion level Digimon from its size and attack power. Its also resisted weight of Cooperraja which should be on per with a perfect like Mammothmon. In other word, Riolu in stage 01 was as strong as a perfect level Digimon.
