>>55429467I would be inclined to agree. Past generations have shown us that there is one traditional remake per console (FRLG - GBA, HGSS - DS, ORAS - 3DS, BDSP - NS), no matter how many generations are on that console. That means Unova remakes would come after Gen X on the Switch successor, leaving us with at least one gap year (2024). With LGPE being a non-traditional remake of Gen 1, released as a send off to Gen VII before Gen VIII on the next console, we could only expect a non-traditional Johto remake this year as a send off to Gen IX, whether that be in the form of a Let's Go! style game, or a Legends sequel, who knows. Game Freak have broken too many patterns to continue patternfagging in the current era, but this one remains consistent, so it's a reasonable assumption.
My hopeful prediction is:
Fall 2024: Legends: Johto
Summer 2025: Legends: Johto DLC
Fall 2026: Gen X
Fall 2027: Gen X DLC
Fall 2028: Traditional Unova remakes
