I would be overjoyed in next generation didn't introduce any new Pokemon other than evolutions for currently existing Pokemon that need them in addition to general housekeeping with BST buffs, movepool expansions, and new abilities for existing Pokemon.
I don't really care about competitive gameplay but the last 4 generations have seen constant, obscene power creep and the differences between modern Pokemon and old shitmons is really palpable even on ingame playthroughs. It's not like competitive wouldn't benefit from more options as well.
