Because Game Freak never released a remake as lead pair and after Gen 3 always released the rehash before the remakes (which held true as DLC replaced the remakes and launched before they announced BDSP).
I'm fully aware they're going to happen, I knew when Masuda said "oh we weren't going to remake RS, but kids online cried for a remake, so we wanted easy money" they were going to be a constant. But that doesn't mean I'm full-retard and expecting them to make one when it's not time for one to appear per the usual conditions they release remakes under.
