Because Legends Arceus Pokémon, all 242 of them, actually have High Quality Animations.
SwShit has 600+ Pokémon, but they're all animated like shit.

I'd argue the inclusion of the dex missions makes up for the low dex count. I remember being super immersed trying to learn everything I can about all the pokemon in an area

Less than GS too.
Also, it's a side game, so having 900 Pokemon is not a requirement. It's still not that good, but at least it's better than SWSH and SV.

I still find it goofy as fuck that people assumed they were saying the cut was so they could improve models and textures JUST for SwSh. We already knew multiple teams were working on different projects so its likely the models from PLA were a factor to why the dex cut actually happened. That or the potential remaking of every texture for the Dynamax mode
