I still subscribe to the theory that Unova was meant to be the new 150
gens 1-4 all had geodudes, zubats, tentacools, other mons that constantly appear across the japanese regions
well gen 5's roggenrolas, woobats, jellicents were going to be those stock pokemon for the next few gens.
this ofc didn't pan out and they just went back to the usual with b/w2
