Lots of people think that you are represented by the character you choose, therefore lots of insecure faggots will try and rationalise why they're picking female characters. It might be a "smaller hitbox", "wanting to look at ass", but all of it is cope because they don't want to be perceived as lowkey trannies and that it will affect their social status.
It's not even hard to admit that female character designs are often more aesthetically pleasing. I like cute girls, I like playing cute girl characters. Simple as.
