It made sense with FRLG, because it was a way to bring all the old Pokémon in line with Gen 3 and the modern system of Pokémon stats, etc. Since then, it's been completely pointless.

FRLG made all 386 available going forwards because all the old 1-251s were stuck with the DV system instead of the modern IV system we have now. HGSS are still the best remakes to date, and Kantoniggers can hang, but objectively, HGSS did not add anything to the games going forward. They were just 10/10 in every other way.

They won't. It's easy nostalgiabux while not needing to effort a game project for two years, as all the prep work would be done and it's just a matter of remaking the game again. It also targets new children to the series that won't have played the originals so it'll glean their customary 8-figure 6 week totals.

15m isn't a bomb and certainly not for a 1:1 post of a 16 year old game and the other a backdoor sequel/prequel/remake launched in late January.

I would be very glad since I've wanted them to get rid of remakes for years now.
I'd much prefer for them to set new games in old regions, instead of remaking the original story, and show how the region has changed after 'x' amount of years.
