I do agree that Sinnoh being a big region should have a bigger dex than DP’s which is what Platinum changed, but it’s definitely not because of MUH FIRE TYPES. If anything the problem the game has is that it didn’t pick its type expert types in a clever way, but that’s a problem every game until then had as well and I would much rather have type experts betray their type than use repeats and not fully evolved shitmons.
