Background: friend no longer works at TPC. Newest info was 2 years ago. Info is from internal emails, memos, and meetings.
BW BW2 remakes from ILCA called Ice Black (2) and Frost White (2). Faithful, chibi, small QOL changes. $40 each and same quarter release - done to maximize revenue. Names may be different, these were pitched with BDSP. Future ILCA game contracts contingent on financial success, not community reaction. Frequency 2-3 years, pitched with XY, SM, etc. All chibi for consistency. Aims to generate guaranteed profits to allow GF experiments. ILCA aims to create foundation to easily produce many of these games.
Pitch that won for GF was Legends Mew/Celibi - explore both regions - mostly similar games, small differences. $60 each. Green lit before Arceus release. Split into 2 to max revenue, GF thinks 2 regions at a time allows consumers to be okay with paying for 2 games. Future legends pitched as well - 2 regions each (some create new region, ex: Hoenn + new island region close by). Frequency 3-4 years. After these, not in gen order. GF struggles to make games with hardware - eyes other Japanese firms to produce (more) types of games - not new gens though. GF hopes to create template to produce games faster + higher quality.
All info subject to change - it is old. LG games not pitched. Community has me thinking this is release year for both.
