Yeah, it's weird. I also don't really like that their is barely anything "ghostly" about them. They're fine design-wise I think. Just don't fit the ghost aesthetic .

I think Pokemon like H!Typhlosion are meant to be like necromancers rather than pure ghosts.
I have no idea why Decidueye is Ghost though other than like, symbolism - it's a ghost cause it sneaks around and is unseen by its enemies?

Decidueye for some reason lacked much in the way of ghost-type moves in Sun/Moon beyond Spirit Shackle (Even learns Brave Bird as the last attacking move). USUM added a bunch to the movepool.

I think OP's pic shows it best, it doesn't have to look like it's bedroom eyes. It is said that it often stares into space, which is due to the Typhlosion looking into the spirit world.
