The recent shitposting of Ash being trash, which is true to some extent, really undermines how amazing is the first pokemon season (using the american terms) and the first movies. The sense of adventure, travel distance of point A to B, character development and mystery in every corner and the lack of leakers and prominent less access to the internet created a magical feeling of following Ash, Brock and Misty in their journey. I'm a fan of the new animes (Journeys and Horizons) but I really miss some aspects of the OG series that seen to be lost in translation to the new generation of anime.
