>>55494257the problem with the "well they didn't specify it was early 2025 so it probably isn't" point is that it could just as easily be spun the other way with "well they didn't say it was late 2025 so it probably isn't" at that point it's just arguing semantics and can hardy be used in an argument when the simple answer could very well just be "they're aiming for a Q1 2025 release but they're not confident enough in it to say for sure, so they're leaving in vague in case they have to delay it by a couple months"
yeah, sure, maybe they could sneak in another announcement for a 2024 release. but it leaves the question of why they would bother arranging a whole other presentation for a separate announcement when they could have just announced them together like they've done in the past
and yes, LGPE was announced in may, but it also didn't share a year with any other title, so the only real example we have of two mainline(ish) games being released close together is BDSP and PLA, both games that were announced together. hell, they technically announced sword and shield at the same time as LGPE (albeit not giving any real details) so that leaves even more credence to there not being another game
so the main question in this falls right back into: if there is no 2024 game, and ZA is (hypothetically) not coming until late 2025, why would they bother announcing a game a year and a half early instead of just waiting to announce it closer to its release when they can market it all at once, especially when they've had absolutely no problem with going a year without a mainline announcement in the past? it's completely pointless for a series that hinges as heavily on marketing as Pokemon and unprecedented from TPC as a whole.
