FRLG were necessary to bring back old pokemon
ORAs were criticized for changing too much
BDSP felt redundant since they changed to little
LGPE was met with a lukewarm reception even if they were new stories set in an old region

HGSS are the kind of mix of old and new most people want out of a remake but thats also why they're pretty unnecessary to remake.
and i'd imagine at this point remaking more games would feel the same since there isn't that much worth adding without making it to different like ORAs
XY probably needed a remake, but a legends game is a better use of everyone's time

Because GF retired their old pattern with the switch and will end up doing Johto at some point anyway, I don't understand how people don't get this. The moment they did LGPE it was clear something was fucked about the switch era.
I also genuinely, honestly don't understand this insane mentality of "if gf doesn't make the next game about us, our gen is forgotten!" in current year. The internet has been nonstop jerking off HGSS for over 10 years anyway, and most normies are just excited to beg for Johto more for next time.

You're more likely to see a Switch port eventually. Minor changes around touch screen shit with a connection to Pokémon Home. It doesn't need a remake.
It's the laziest option that would still move tons of copies due to nostalgia and generally being a favorable version.

HGSS is over 10 years old, Pokémon is so full of ultras casuals who only care about the newest gen and Kanto. I doubt most normies have even played a Johto game considering how easy they are to gaslight.

It's true though. But it's not about you. It's about the new generation who know none of this and can't play any of these games. Like my little cousin has only played Alola, Galar, Kanto and Sinnoh so far. He can't play Johto and has no idea it exists. So he's less likely to buy Johto plushes and shit like that. He knows Cyndaquil from PLA that's about it
