The biggest question IMO is if they’re actually going to do the same thing as PLA and give the starters regional variants. With mega evolution returning, there’s always the chance they just give them mega evolutions instead. And at that point, too, it would be entirely possible they just use the Kalos trio.
That said, in an ideal world, we get three non-Kalos starters that get regional evolutions, and then the original Kalos starters are found in the wild and receive Mega Evolutions.
