Basically every facet of the franchise still regularly included Megas. Mobile games, anime, everything. Even the mainline titles had kept updating mega related elements, and tie them in lore wise.

I'm sorry but Game Freak is going to lock away Megas in the vault again after and I'll have to tell you I told you so. Megas won't return after this. It was obvious it'd always return in the context of Kalos since it literally has 0 story to pull from without that. This is also set in the 1800s before they discovered mega evolution was cruel to Pokémon. They only discovered in Sun and Moon which was after both XY and LGPE. Maybe actually play the games you retards.

Canonically they discovered mega evolution in the mega timeline sometime before X and Y. So it's not headcanon they say it in game. But I'd agree with you since I don't like Megas that much anyway. Luckily for me they are optional.
