Like Unova gave you an entire fucking dex of 156 new pokemon! Plus all the rest after the main campaign and unlocked in BW2. There was nothing wrong with it!

156 poor designs that would never pass the art quality test of today if it wasn't for their gen 5 philosophy of "quantity > quality" to try to replicate Kanto success (they didn't).

I mean look at the fucking ice cream family or the eel family or even the gear family - there was no fucking need to make any of those a 3 stage evolution.

What's really the issue with them being so, though? This isn't an opportunity cost scenario or anything, we didn't lose out on anything by there being 3 stages vs 2.

By no means would I say any of the lines you mentioned are pokemon I'd list as my favorites, but I feel like this almost meme level fixation on certain Unova pokemon has always just been a really surface level criticism that doesn't hold much water.

Gen 3 remake was during Gen 6
Gen 4 remake was during Gen 8
A hypothetical BW3 game, if the pattern is right, should be released during Gen 10 so my guess around 2027-2028
