There is every reason to believe this trend will continue, not because "muh patterns" but because Pokémon is an international mega media franchise that has comfortably settled into this three-year cycle and disrupting it would create costly delays and complications.
Gen 10 will be announced next Pokémon Day, February 27th 2025. It makes sense to release PLZA before then to avoid it being overshadowed by Gen 10, just like PLA with Gen 9.
Nintendo will reveal their new console this year and launch it either this holiday season or Q1 2025 at the latest. This also makes January a favorable window for PLZA to avoid competing with Switch 2 launch titles in November or March. Assuming Gen 10 will release on the Switch 2, it would also be desirable to release PLZA before they start promoting Pokémon on a superior console.
