Wild pokemon don't live in Lumiose city
Add to that the fact the music in the trailer was made up of entierely modern instruments clearly points to it being in modern kalos.

What? It was quite obviously an old film, it was in 4:3 and it was literally out of focus at times, with jagged edges in the screen too
Even the style of pointing to a lettering is reminiscent of the very first french films in the 1890s

The modern instruments were there because it's a trailer for a game in the year 2024 and they wanted to make hip music for it, it's not supposed to be taken literally

PLA did not have modern music at any point in its marketing because it would clash with the estethic. Almost like PLZA isn't set in the past.

Text cards on cardboard were heavily used in films back in the experimental days before the 1910s
As Ive said before, 4:3, jagged edges, and some frames are out of focus, just like a 1900s worker's film

Moving pictures did not look nor sound like this in 1910. The trailer starts as a presentation on a projector (that's the part you're mistaking for an old film) that switches to a fully 3D video, something that decidedly didn't exist before the 1980's.
