>>55511246Kanto has more but KANTO is an outlier
>it fucking boggles my mind people actually think gamefreak hates Johto.Blame Gen 6
Gen 2: Infamous for West Kanto Sydrome where the Gen 1 roster is more prominent than the new pokemon, however this was before Game Freak knew how to handle new Pokemon so its really only a problem in hindsight. Also Gen 2 Pokemon got decent rep in side games like Stadium, in the anime, and where especially impactful in the TCG. Feraligatr and Typhlosion were meta defining staples.
Gen 3: An awkward time between FRLG and Emerald where Gen 2 Pokemon went missing from the main series, but the GameCube give Johto Pokemon their focus.
Gen 4: HGSS. enough said.
Gen 5: Soft Reboot so everyone not Gen 5 got was shelved for while, even KANTOOOO. Gen 2 staters didn;t get their Hidden abilites but weird enough Gen 5 starters didn't either.
Gen 6: When the bullshit starts, Johto starters get skipped over for Megas. despite being the starters hurt by powercreep the most and allegedly having a connection with KANTOO
Gen 7: Let;s Go erases Johto Pokemon (to be fair it erased everything not Gen 1, but you know damn well a Lets Go Johto would be stuffed with KANTOOOO pokemon so Johto Pokemon being absence is more noticeable)
Gen 8. Johto gets decimated by Dexit, along with Hoenn but Hoenn at least got to keep its starters (though to be fair a s few other starters weren't; allowed other) Also KANTOOOOO shilling is ramped to parody levels while Johto Pokemon seemingly appear less in spinoffs than other region.
PLA: Cyndaquil is picked Typhlosion gets a region. An objective win,, but in the context of being snubbed for Mega it almost seems insulting, Chaizard and Blaziken gain the power to become cool game breaking super saiyan forms, and Typhlosion got...,a stoner granny?
tdlr: that anon is a schizo but they (sort of) have a point if looking at the context of the franchise since Gen 6
