To start, I'd give it super effectiveness against fighting rather than just being resistant. That one struck me as weird, and at that point, you might as well give it being super effective against bugs, too, since, you know, poison is generally how you kill bugs around a place. Yeah, it's not a perfect solution since bug is already generally shit, but buffing bug is entirely another question.

Why would water be weak to poison? Water dilutes poison and makes it weaker, if anything water should be strong against poison.
