The balance is collapsing. So people decided to shelter Pokemon in cities while they work on a permanent solution. But cities aren't built for massive and variable Pokemon population, and tearing them down will cause conflicts among people so Quasar Inc. come out with a plan. Somehow, they managed to build a machine based on schematics presented by a mysterious scientist from Paldea. Lumiose City will be their experimental subject. They will redevelop the City, but in the past so that no conflicts will happen in the present. But the machine isn't perfect. It can't send living body into the past. So Quasar sent a humanoid robot into the 1800s and (You) obviously going to pilot that robot.
Past Lumiose was a small Town. The Mayor was an aspiring woman (she looks like Leandro). (You) make a deal to work under her and develop Lumiose Town. Quasar will send tasks to you so you need to finish those tasks in order to get Points you can use to make upgrades. You will get money from the Mayor after finishing her tasks so that you can purchase items for you to use in that time period. Each time you finish Quasar's major tasks, you will return to present to see the changes that you've made.
