They generally only nerf or buff things by 10 or something max, which does fuckall but is in service of I guess keeping pokemon within their lane (I do think some pokemon should just be worse than others, its a bit boring if everything has the same BST for example, but its a matter of having the lesser pokemon still have some sort of niche of usability even if its for a gimmick).
For the OP Megas though, idk what kinda massive course correction is needed (and also realistic).
I think all "20% boost to normal moves and they change type" abilities need to lose the 20% boost, Salamence and Metagross then need to drop 20 speed and stick it in special attack or something instead.
Metagross probably needs to lose tough claws too.
Megas are obviously supposed to be strong but some Megas (especially the new ORAS ones) are so strong they basically defeat the entire purpose of the system, nullifying any reason to use anything besides the completely broken ones.
