Legends Z-A was absolutely a last-minute response to Palworld. They never planned to revisit that spin-off series again until Palworld showed how much people wanted open-world Pokemon games

You realize Legends: Z-A has potentially been in the works since 2020 or earlier, right? Not development per se, but planning at the very least.
I say 2020 because of Mega Jynx from the HOME datamine, and if she shows up here, that confirms they've had this one in the backlog for a long ass time.

Doubt it, pokemon games suck because they are a tiny piece of the pie. Pokemon is a merchandise juggernaut, it is too big to fail and it has proven for decades it doesn't even need the west. Japan alone I'll keep it propped up.

Imagine being unable to just enjoy both series because The Pokémon Company owns you.

Competition is healthy for getting quality games. Maybe Gamefreak will be forced to put actual effort into Pokémon now that Palworld exists.

Are you retarded? Gamefreak *can't* do better.
S&V was their maximum.
PLA was their maximum.
Look at their other games: they put a hundred time more effort into pokéstuff.
It's just that their very best is not a tenth of any other random studio.

Palworld didn't push them to do better, it only pushed them to do *something* as fast as possible.
PLZ will either be their most half-finished game in forever, and they will have to push back the deadline by a year or two just for it to be vaguely on the same level than PLA.

Quake was created in the wild west of shooters, the experimental ages, thus it could actually compete with the other options at the time by providing unique pros and cons

Palworld is simply too late, it'll fade out of existence, it already did what it needed and the developers will move on to make more AI cashgrabs

Stop thinking that Palworld would have any positive effect on GameFreak making Pokémon.
The last time a franchise had protentional to be real competition Pokémon duct taped useless add-ons to 'compete' which has been viewed as some of the worst aspects of that generations so why would this time be different?

Did you seriously type this and not even remotely think gamefreak can't be applied it doesn't work if you can apply it to Pokemon. You want to one up something it has to be solo not co-op with other games.
