i caught a shiny geodude in diamond i leveled up into a graveler. I honestly don’t remember what I thought about it as a kid, I definitely didn’t know what shinies were but i don’t remember thinking the yellow geodude was weird or interesting

Shiny Zigzagoon in ruby. I don't think I realized it at the time. It was only when I found my cartridge years later and looked at my team that I noticed. I think this because the shiny linoone was my HM slave, so I must not have thought much of it.
It's a decent looking shiny

Torkoal in Fiery Path. I looked away when the encounter loaded so I saw just the tail end of the sparkle, and wondered if I imagined it. Then I saw it was female and I didn't have a female Torkoal and thought it might be a gender difference. I decided to catch it anyway JUST in case it was a shiny.
It was, and my young self was very happy.

Giratina in Pearl. Technically my little brother was playing because I asked him to soft reset for me while I went to the bathroom. The first while I was personally playing was Dratini in Scarlet. Been playing since Yellow.

Shiny Gyarados in FireRed. It was about to faint so I had to use an Ultra Ball. I was disappointed my first shiny was the most common one but I like the color in FRLG better and made me like a Pokemon I never cared for before.

My one and only shiny so far is a shiny Koffing, now Weezing. I was playing Fire Red in dim lighting, going through Pokemon Mansion probably for a Ditto or EXP. So i get an encounter, i couldnt tell on the screen and i couldnt hear the *kira kira* going on but i did notice the encounter animation took longer than usual and i thought "Strange,better catch it and see whats what" so i caught it with a greatball and lost my shit, I eventually Palpark'd t on my R4 Soul Silver to be immortalized.

I'm not sure if it counts, but back when HGSS dropped I was in 10th grade and got an AR just so I could fill the Pokedex myself. I was going down the list with the masterball code (where the # of masterballs you had correlated with the Pokemon's # you'd encounter, so if you had 150 masterballs, you'd encounter Mewtwo) I was going down the list, got to Nospass, and it turned out to be shiny. I kept that little guy up until Black as a Probopass.

on my first playthrough of Pearl I found a shiny Zubat on the first short part of Mt Coronet
instantly made room in my party for him and used him the whole game, turned out a lot stronger than I'd expected it would
I still have it, with a collection of other mons I carry forward to every game

In Sapphire as a kid I put my sceptile in the daycare to give him a break (don't know what other pokemon was in there) and got an egg, which hatched into a shiny treeko. I still have the save with my little teal boy.

The VERY FIRST shiny I got was Psyduck in Platinum, in the bottom of the Oreburgh Gate cave, I remember loving the blue and how unique it was.

After that it was Wurmple in Ruby, then the red Gyrados in Heartgold, and a Pidgey and Tentacool later on, then Basculin in White, then the Nature Preserve Haxorus and Gift Gible in Black 2, + all the event shinies of the time, then a Lampent in Pokemon Y and a Bagon from one of my Brother's friends, then all the shiny events in XY, fuck knows after that but it was all events, Go shit, Lets Go shit or injected shit. Everything I had before Pokèmon White is long gone with my old copy of HeartGold.

I've been playing since Blue in 1999 and the only shiny I ever got was an Oddish in FRLG back in 2004. I think I just have the most terrible luck. I also don't play these games that autistically the last game I played extensively was Moon (100 hours or so).

i think my first one was a random shiny torchic i hatched in w2, although i deleted the save it was on.
also found a shiny pelipper while surfing in oras, and used the gen 6 fishing trick to get a shiny there (forgot what it was, i think it was a clauncher), also didn't preserve either of them
the rest of them i got on my switch games, and i deposited them in home. got a bunch from legends arceus and scarlet
recently i got a shiny kyurem in w2 which i'm proud of, gotta transfer it to the switch games before 3ds bank goes kaput

Not including the guaranteed shinies from gen 2/5, it was a shiny Pidgey in LeafGreen. Nothing crazy but I was really surprised to see it was a gen 3 game and not a gen 6+ one with those increased odds

Apart from Gyarados, I'm pretty sure the first shiny I had was either a shiny Geodude or a shiny Zubat sometime during gen 4. This shade of green is my favourite colour, so I'm still kind of annoyed that they reversed it's primary and secondary colours when it evolves into Crobat. I don't even think it looks bad, I just really wanted a green Crobat.
