HGSS out of the box gives you access to some of the nuttiest possible fucking teams in any of the main games at the time of its release. Before facing Lance you can have a team like no other.

Sadly, you can't obtain any Hoenn or Sinnoh Pokemon through the Pokewalker until postgame. You can still get some pretty cool stuff though, like Murkrow and Elekid, who you can realistically catch around the time you reach Violet City.

False. You can download and use Winner's Path, Rally, and Sightseeing as soon as you get through the tutorial section. You can have a full team of non-Johto Pokemon before ever even facing Falkner.

They are event only, but getting the event routes is extremely easy without doing any hacking. Just a simple DNS alteration in the DS menu and you're done.

Fair point, but not quite the same since you can still get a Pokewalker and use it. There is no way to ever go back to the Dream world.
Also irl many of the encounters you’ve get in the walker are available in the Safari zone. I know the Safari has some weird time gates and some encounters only appear after the beating the Elite 4 something but there are many Safari encounters you can get right way.

You don't even need BR for Electivire and Magmortar. Electabuzz and Magmar can be caught well before post game and they have a chance of holding an electirizer/magmarizer. You can also get Elekid and Magby before post game.

Only Elekid is available before postgame anyway, and only in DP (neither are available without breeding in Platinum). This does mean you can theoretically use Electivire in a DP play-through, but it is incredibly uncommon with high variance, not fun to do. At least you can grind it out unlike Munchlax, that's just miserable.
