They've been doing it deliberately even after gen 8, even got rid of the shit that made him unique including the anime. Why would they regret something that they completely intended and kept doing and still doing for years?

I think Battle Bond is going to be retconned as a mega form too, but that wouldn't be a huge "reveal". It's a design that people already knows well enough thanks to the anime, showing it again would generate much hype.
They'll give it another mega.
