Though they could do something like have a Slowbro get bitten by a wild Shellder, or have a Magnemite beat two wild Magnemite to join together so that way it's not like the player is losing one of their mons. Also raises the question of what happens if a shiny is involved in this, does it just get overwritten or does Slowbro have a shiny tail?
