The awful Gigantimax was defeated by Mega Evolution. Game Freak is bringing Mega back with Legends Z-A. Dynamax and Terrastrilization are inferior to mega evolution.

Journeys generally shilled non-Galar stuff better than Galar stuff. While the anime did take place during Sinnoh remake hype, Sinnoh usually got better episodes in Journeys than Galar. As you pointed out also Dynamax didn't get too much favor until Leon started fighting and decimated Alain and Diantha.

Mega Evolution was conceptualized as a new permanent fixture of the series. It's not exactly any wonder that, independent of its mechanical implementation, people just identify with its style more.

It was so odd. You could see this as the game came out and the anime for that region released. The anime decided to cover all regions instead of focusing on Galar. What an odd region and gen.
