Since Twitter is the largest online forum in the world, multiple state and independent actors put in a lot of effort to run massive bot networks to sway public opinion there. I remember someone calculated it as following the Pareto Principle, 20% of Twitter is bots, but they make up 80% of all Twitter posts. Ever since ChatGPT came out it's gotten especially bad with these Twitter bots being almost indistinguishable from real people except for occasional slip up like spitting out their prompts or posting the basic "As an AI chatbot".
