They've snookered themselves. Is there anyway the 3DS and Switch can communicate locally? They're going to have to eliminate over 15 years of Pokemon history.

It would be trivial to have software on the 3DS communicate with a Switch locally, but Bank isn't set up to do that and the 3DS eshop is down so there's no way to push new software to a 3DS.

It doesn't need to. The switch is the one that must be able to comunicate with a 3DS with the game and just trade like if it was two 3ds

Now the question: will they bother ? Considering the obvious backlash and it being a strong argument for HOME premium plan, there is chance they will do something. Wouldn’t be so positive though, because the eshop closed for one year now and still nothing like that showed up…

Idiots they're never going to offer an offline transfer solution. It would have been easier for everyone of them to do so in the first place instead of coming up with this bank and home bullshit, but they don't care about convenience for you they just want control over transferring. They're not going to give a shit when bank stops working.
