Didn't make a proper team. Just use the highest level mons available in the area in order to deal with the current situation. Besides the starter, everything was boxed at some point.

First Kanto game was LeafGreen. My memory is foggy, but based on Champion Ribbons in Home on Pokemon with my old LeafGreen trainer ID, it looks like my League team was something like Venusaur, Machamp, Alakazam, Dragonite, and Articuno.

I definitely remember having a Bulbasaur in one run and a Squirtle in another, but for the love of God I can't remember which one was first (I started with FireRed and moved to Gen1 a bit later, just to close the gestalt).
