Her return in Journeys is much better received because (she's cuter in the new style too) they removed the negative aspects of her character in BW, as well as completely fucking over her return--turning her into a complete loser, becoming only a Champion offscreen and has no on-screen or tie against Ash (and other Champions) who is supposed to be her equal at that point. So she's become a more sympathetic character especially after awkwardly bawling her eyes off to Ash in her defeat who is incapable of comforting her.
