If anything, that makes the whole Unova praise from them/unovabort saga on /vp/ even stranger because it's the only other one that comes close in terms of 'not suitable for extrinsic rulesets'. It's extremely conflicting.
I don't know much about yawnfag besides "gen 3-5 bad, gen 6+ good", but I feel like with his push especially, the whole /vp/ thing just seems like he was an early zoomer who grew up with X and Y and hated how everyone started liking the gen before that was hated so, the respective hate/like for them only growing with time as more gens with sister versions/DLC came out.
