>>55575008>Regional evos Evolutions in general are just an admission that the original was too babyish to stand on its own or garbage to compete with powercreep so it gets effectively replaced with an older sibling to fight its battles for it while getting eviolite as a consolidation prize. Regional evos worse worse since it all of the above but that older sibling only shows up in one region. or far worse you don't get a sibling at all your regional form does and you get jack shit.

If its strong then its pyrrhic since even though its a win for a species as a whole the original you care about is now the "wrong" choice, or even worse the regional is a complete shitmon that doesnt improve one the mistakes of the original, so the family is even more of joke.
Megas are the only ones that actually elevate the Pokemon the get them. There's a reason why King Charizard got a mega (strike that TWO megas), while the PLA starters (who are hated for being: wingless Charizard, not being able to use its swords, and (not sure why people hate Decidueye), got regionals. Also its a weird "coincidence" how the three PLA starters happen to be from regional hated for relying to much on KANTOOO: Kanto's Backyard, Kanto's Knock-Off, and Kanto's Tourists Spot.
Pokemon that Game Freak respects get Megas. Regionals are just OCs versions of Pokemon Game Freak makes because there bored.
