Only advice I can think of: don't bloat the Safari Zone too much with one type of pokemon if you want to find specific mons more easily, and don't get too attached to pokemon being shiny, in my rom I think there's a bug that makes mons lose shiny status.
Other than that, it's probably the most fun romhack I played and can easily ruin your real life schedule.
