No Pokémon I absolutely love. Mudsdale and Lurantis are fune. Buzzwole is hilarious. I liked petting Lurantis. Cocaintales was a nice addition too.

Similar to gen 5, it's a mixed bag, with high highs and lows lows (less consistent overall quality than early gens), but more good than bad overall. With good starters and some pretty creative designs, I do like it, despite the presence of Trump, crab with paws, and worst regional birb.

making Cosmoem an entire Pokemon always seemed weird to me, you basically get zero exposure to it in the story and I always forget it exists, why not just make it a Cosmog form?

However Magearna is still one of the best choices against fairies due to the Alolas lack of poison and steel types and your "Pokémon without regional forms" clausel.

My third favorite after Kanto and Johto. I like most of them: Decidueye, Ribombee, Toxapex, Araquanid, Lurantis, Salandit, Pyukumuku, Type:Null, Tortunator, Mimikyu, Drampa, Dhelmise, Tapus, Lunala, Marshadow, A-Persian, A-Muk, A-Marowak, the UBs!

They really did a good job with the dex.

Frustratingly a good amount of the mons are quite rate or only accessible late in the game.
If i replay again I'll try to engineer it to use mons like Geodude (why the fuck isn't it in the wild in USUM) and Turtonator

I hate the Alolan regional forms and Ultra Beasts
I dislike to hate the starters
I disdain the vast majority of the dex
This was a downgrade from Kalos in my eyes and where I realized Pokemon was very likely never going to get better again (confirmed beyond doubt with Galar)

I like Salazzle, and Marshadow especially. Such a great concept.
