I have a card i want to eventually submit for grading. However, i dont plan on doing this for years. What is the best way to preserve this card as long as possible? I currently have it in perfect fit sleeve, then put into an ultra pro penny sleeve the opposite way, then put into top loader, followed by a team bag with seal. Is this excessiveness going to fuck the card? Should i get a magnetic case?

You're worrying too much. I had a Lucario + Melmetal tagteam I threw raw in a toploader years ago and found recently. It was sitting in a random storage bin outside of a case.

It came back as a 10. They're not that thorough. As long as the card is unplayed, the only things they're going to knock off is for print errors that would have been there anyway.

The owner of that nidoking card then goes on to talk about how they sent in the card to PSA to have it re-appraised. PSA had the card looked at by their "head grader" who confirmed the grade multiple times.

This is not a niche example. The act of re-appraising the card and PSA doubling down on their stance shows that they are infected to the core and that their standards and ego is so high that they would rather let cards with eight print lines get 10s than to admit they made a mistake.

It's not baffling, you're just retarded. 10 means nothing if you send in a shit card and it gets graded as a 10 and it brings down the value of all the genuine 10s. The entire point of having a numerical scale to discern which cards are in good condition and which are not becomes completely devoid of value if the numbers are being given out erroneously. Unlike you, he can see past his own nose and he would rather it be that that card inparticular receives the lower grade that it deserves, so that when he goes to purchase another 10 later on, it's a card that's actually worthy of being a 10.

Because otherwise it devalues the product that PSA is selling. If you see that a 10 clearly and obviously (8+ print lines) should be graded lower, you want PSA to make things right. But PSA doubling down and saying that this is the correct grade shows that they either think that it's okay for a card full of print lines to be considered GEM MINT, or that they will never admit when they make mistakes.

PSA not willing to lower the grade is evidence that grading is a complete scam.

I'm starting a grading company that only grades Pokémon cards.
I've invested 500k into various different scanning machines. Including Spot Flurescence light scans, uv lighting scans, and infrared lighting, edge scanners, as well as card care compond detection, and macroscopic scans of cards surfaces to make a "snowflake" identification print for each card, making cards theft tracable and detectable if resubmitted.
Each slab will have a QR code that gives a plethora of information, such as previous owners, the grades & subgrades, population counts, all standard and only $10 per card on submission. Labels will also have swirl counters on the back. Will only grade common errors like D.efending Beedrill, Evo box wartortle, d edition butterfree, etc.
Crimps, miscuts, will all be designated as damaged.
Gray stamps will never grade a 10 like cards with print lines.
Best will be near mint.
The cards are all machine graded, a human just places them on a belt. They are also slabbed by a machine.

I've seen Misty & Lorelei cards go for less than 150 and are still nm/mint looking. As for the Erika's hospitality umbrella ver, I'm also on the look out for one but I've seen them go for 500 usd on avg for a great condition one.

Also, have you seen the new Lana cards coming out in the crimson haze set?

the biggest flaw with GLC is only one of each named card. Instead it should be no duplicate cards. Allow you to run 4 of each mon, but they have to be different cards with unique text. It fucks with the evolution mechanics of the game imo.

That's very nice. I don't have anyone to play with, but have been assembling decks around each Eeveelution with the set of 9 leather deck boxes that they brought out a few years ago. I've also been buying playsets of some of my favorite Base-Neo cards. I've been planning to buy the holos in Japanese for being cheaper and also less likely to have warped and 'mark' them in the deck by sticking up.

That always bugged me about the game. A lot of old tcg guides suggest having 4-3-2 for 2 stagers to make sure you drew a basic, but then that leaves you unlikely to draw the stage 2 that you need. I know nowadays there's a hundred ways to search your deck but I always felt you should be able to have +2 for each previous stage so you could have the increased draw rate of the basal stages without cutting the quantity of the cards you actually need.

all my jungle\fossil\rocket era holos were random shitmon that i didnt like
my decks all were HEAVY played
NOT SLEEVED
the decks i dismantled were mid at best(i was as child)
i was turning around 14 and knew i was skipping town +likely wouldn't be playing tcg anymore
so for the last few bouts at the league i traded everyone for the "low value" base nintetales
it was my favorite monster and still is
my binder looked cool as fuck on page 2 & 3
the entire thing was stacked
