In Generation II Grimer can learn Ice Punch via TM. It has no way of learning this move in Generation I, but a Grimer taught the move in a Generation II game can be sent back to Gen I, giving you the unique experience of playing with Ice Punch Grimer, and I think that's pretty cool.
