>>55606928The battles look nice, but that’s about where my praise of BDSP ends. I’ll admit that it is hard for a remake to win me over. I’m a bitter oldfag who doesn’t see the point in rereleasing old titles with little more than a new coat of paint. BDSP is too close to the original DP, games that I wasn’t too fond of back when they released, and the changes it does make range from insignificant to annoying. It’s baffling how modern mechanics like affection were implemented, yet movepools were gutted, mon were excluded, TMs break, the money cap is 999,999, etc.
BDSP reeks of amateur devs. A more nitpicky complaint is that the singles Tower is poorly balanced, but I’ll admit that balancing 3v3 singles is tough. The doubles format is actually pretty solid, though.
