that is not how sugimori drew young women. I can't believe you guys have never seen this image before.
The goofy kid-goku proportions of the trainers aside, I've always liked the way the PKMN look in this art and imagining what could have been if Sugi didn't modernize. Chipmunk faces and digital coloring were a mistake. This thread rocks btw, seeing quite a bit of new stuff since last time I caught one of these threads.
