Pokemon was always behind in that department, and while I agree with you that it's a downside, I'vr accepted it as a reality for years already. Especially after proving time after time again they can't do proper 3D for many years. You just better hope and pray whatever the fuck "Pokemon Works" ends up being, it'll help this front.
