Dash, Battle Revolution, Ranch and Ranger died in Gen 4
Stadium was basically replaced by Battle Revolution
Colosseum and Pinball died in Gen 3
Only ones who had their last games in Gen 5 was Poképark and Conquest (First and only in this case) (Maybe Trozei and Rumble. Don't know them very much)

But while they do release some spinoffs, it's at a depressing rate compared to the 90's or 00's. They naturally prefer to release piles of mobileshit instead since it's even cheaper and makes even more money

The full game and the English release weren't until Gen 7. Might as well call Detective Pikachu Returns a Gen 8 game since there are no Gen 9 Pokemon and say that Gen 9 has no spin-offs thus far.

Trozei's kind of a weird case in that while it did have a sequel of sorts in Battle Trozei, it kinda sorta lived on in Shuffle which wasn't even initially for mobile at first and then later into Cafe Remix which is a mobile game.

It kind of lived on in a sense, just under a different name.

People did, that's the point.
Super had everything. It didn't cut Pokemon like Gates did.
But now there's going to be 3 generations of Pokemon, forms and mechanics to incorporate into a new game. Something isn't getting into the game, and thats gonna make people mad.

Where's the post-game superboss Charizard in Almia? I don't remember anything like that. Again the post-game would be something like the extra missions or even Regigas

It's not "what happened to spinoffs" per se as much as "what happened to japanese game development after the rise of HD consoles and also phone gaming".

15 years ago producing lower budget projects like that was fairly viable, but nowadays those studios are either focusing on making phone games or just flat out died during the technological transition.
