So we all know who the current peak of rivals are in Pokemon as seen in my picture here (Marnie unrelated) and how well they were written and built. But what about the future? I'm an optimist and hope for the better, so let's focus on that. What kind of rival would you want in Generation 10? What would be a rival as good as or even better than Nemona and Blue?
Personally I'm hoping for someone as competitive and strong as those two felt. With perhaps a goth girl (again, Marnie unrelated, learn your countercultures) look to her, maybe a tsundere too I don't know. Honestly doesn't even have to be a girl. But if Game Freak wants an archetype to draw in as many people as Nemona's tall tan tomboy? The goth girlfriend is the way to go, other than perhaps a young Cynthia.
Honestly I'm fine with almost any rival that isn't Nemona 2.0, Hop, or Silver.
Silvercucks can stay out by the way, I can't respect someone who talks so much shit despite being weak, and then proceeds to cope, seeth, and mald every time we beat him. I never felt like Silver was a threat.
