Ciel's Megazard Y, Mega Pidgeot, and Mega Altaria on the desert field still stand out in memory for making me build a Trick Room setup to deal with that faggotry. Radomus supporting his waifuvoir with a megagross was also quite rough for that point in the game I recall.
Indeed a shame it's gone. I'm of the opinion it was the optimal way to experience Reborn despite being harder, just because of how much more thought and care was put into each encounter without outright forcing you to use specific mons or break the fields to win.

I saw their Memeborn hack a while back, and while making a hardmode was second to being a shitpost, I really wasn't vibing with their boss design philosophy from what I remember. Here's hoping whatever they settle on is better than that.

Unfortunately the variety of difficulty mod demice and his acolytes make now is to make battles so hard that if you have even one slightly bit of bad RNG you instantly lose because of how overtuned the opponents are

I hate that Ame started a trend of self-inserts being tied to league management or otherwise public figures of importance instead of just being random dev cameo battles you can do. I never thought I'd praise Insurgence, but them having the dev inserts on their own optional superboss island was the best possible implementation of the idea.

I've really come around to Toxicroak lately. He was very good to me in my reminiscia run, and continues to have all of the stats+moves in all the right places to get you out of rough situations on top of having a water immunity and good resists making switching him in usually pretty easy. He's a good mon who doesn't get enough appreciation.

wasn't even that hard once i got the strat down, it was again just nigger rng coming in and killing attempts. never seen that one before h-haha
the main point of contention was the quagsire living razor leaf from nuzleaf as it would set up arenite wall which lasts for 8 turns on this field and kills all supereffective moves, so i had to spend a bit of AP to buy protein and an adamant mint so nuzleaf could kill it

The Reborn forums had like a league where prominent members were the gym leaders(This was pre Reborn the game), and they all had to do this cringy roleplaying as their characters. The original Lin however refused to do so, since she just wanted to play pokemon. So Ame got butthurt and made Lin into the villain of her game, where her entire focus was on being the strongest.

i missed this, but if you use rock smash on a certain broken wall in one of the ruins you go through there's a boss fight against an appletun and a flapple, where you get a zangoose egg, sweet/tart apple, and you can catch gossifleur here who are thankfully low level enough to know rapid spin, if this were a demice mod i'm sure he would do this exact same thing except make the gossifleur who spawn here just high level enough to not know rapid spin

well it is easy to get "illegal" status in essentials, just skip the "can poison/para/burn?" check and overwrite the mon's status
and moto/Dem probably just made nuclear mons skip the full paralysis % check (at that point shouldn't you just make everything skip the full para?)
