You know, something that often goes really under appreciated with DP is how well it integrates older mons into its Dex. People are gonna disagree but it's true.
A lot of them are tied into new mons through either baby evos or new evos (both in Budew's case) and baby mons are actually catchable in the wild too.
Also, a lot of pokemon are explicitly given more of a chance to shine than they did in prior games, which people often forget these days. Misdreavous and Murkrow for example weren't available until the postgame in any previous pokemon game, but in DP you can get them before the second gym. Onix, Psyduck, Ponyta, Meditite, Remoraid, etc are all more easily useable in DP than in the previous games, and they're usually given to you at points in the game when they'd be useful. It's dumb to have an obsession with only using new mons in playthroughs, a lot of pokemon get they're best showing in other games.
