Yeah, because that's not "official blurb from Game Freak" that's marketing horseshit written by TPC/NoA who MARKET and LOCALISE the games. Game Freak call the periods of releases that introduce new regions, first partners, legendaries and storylines "eras", because they're released on a set period of time, not to a particular bunch of people.
Your lack of an education doesn't preclude Game Freak correctly identifying the term for a period of time.

The first Pokémon game I played was a hack sold as a bootleg called Pokémon BlueSea version. My "first partner" was a Spheal, he turned into a level 100 Walrein but the cartridge doesn't work anymore.

retard, "Generations" has ALWAYS been a fan term, Gamefreak have never called it Gen 1, 2 etc.
Gamefreak call them "New era" or some shit.

"Shiny" was also a fan term which eventually became the official term in the games, before that, they were just called "Alternate colored" Pokemon.
