Some animals tend to bond easier/closer with the opposite sex, and vice versa. Do you think the same is true for Pokemon?

I could see a male Pokemon of an aggressive, territorial species being more comfortable with a female trainer. Or a female Pokemon of a highly competitive species being happier with a male trainer
