I’m playing a romhack called Quarantine Crystal. I was able to get a shiny of the Grass/Bug starter. The second one in the party will become Water/Psychic when it evolves.

Beta ROM of Pokemon Red/Green... or a recreation of it, at the very least. I don't know if absolutely everything in it is faithful to the true beta (I doubt it). Either way, it's been fun. Broken as fuck, though; especially endgame with Victory Road being a fucking mess of glitches. There's even another gauntlet right before the Elite 4 (like a second Victory Road) with wild mons that can downright crash the game.

-Gorochu: The (in)famous scrapped Raichu evo. Motherfucker goes fast and hits hard, which is all you can ask for, really.
-Croakozuna: Pretty much just Poliwrath 2, down to its alarming lack of good Fighting-type moves. Design is funny, though.
-CHARIZARD: Fucking sucks.
-Butterfree: Kept it at first because it actually has a damaging Bug-type move which proved very useful against Poison and Psychic types, and eventually, I didn't feel like getting rid of it.
-Bawligua: Mostly wanted it for its typing (Water/Dragon). It's fine, but since it still hasn't reached its final evo, it was often more a burden than anything.
-Roardan: Discount Tyranitar (without the Dark type). It has a really good Special stat, too bad there's practically no fucking Special move it can actually learn.

Team after beating Colosseum
As you could probably tell by the fact that i went out of my way to purify Metagross... yeah. It was hard. God. I wasn't expecting that from a pokemon game. The fact that your starters don't evolve in this game really hurts them for the last few battles, yeah go fight this team of half pseudolegends with Umbreon and Espeon bro, and don't forget you have to stall the shadow mon until you manage to catch it.
Thanks god you can keep shadow mons even if you lose the fight.

Playing Crystal Legacy, I have 12 badges so far. I do appreciate the increased difficulty but sometimes the level curve gets ahead of your teams and you have to grind it out.

I thought the same. Otherwise fun hack but it definitely felt like you had to just keep rematching gyms to get xp by the end.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm still navigating Kanto so having a dedicated Cut user on my team is nice. Plus Cut got pretty buffed in Crystal Legacy, it's now stronger, Bug-type, and has a high crit rate. I'll probably switch it out when I have more challenging battles coming up.

Just got to the 4th island and picked up Dhelmise in Ultra Sun with my ghost team. I was using Bank to expand my Poke Pelago and found out I had a Hoopa kicking around there, so I think I'm going to use it as a 6th instead of wait for Ghost Oricorio. When else am I going to use it, and it's not like it's helping me with my crippling weakness to Dark.

just "beat" Black for the first time, unsure whether to finish leveling/evolving team and slog through postgame/E4 for completion purposes or just move on to B2.
really haven't enjoyed the pokemon variety in gen5 so far and GF's overreliance on the now defunct online features of the DS really killed my engagement with the game

Yeah, desu I could probably have swapped Raikou because it was kind of a jobber for the final fight since he has earthquake on everything and even Slowking didn’t take much from thunder. But it’s kind of cool to run all three beasts. Especially since I don’t usually use legendaries in mainline games because they tend to be overleveled

Not him but I did many Sinnoh run and I never used the Luxray or Staraptor lines beyond the very early game. I never understood why they were on the typical sinnoh team memes (I had a friend that did use them though)
Then again I never really cared about only using new pokemon so that may be why

Battle Frontier Team for Emerald. Slugma was for egg hatching, while Marill and Tropius are for HMs.
Swampert, Latios, and Metagross are the generic, but effective main team. Completed the Battle Palace already, because it sucks, and I got the Silver Pike Symbol.

I last time I used a legendary in a playthrough was actually kinda recently when I ran into Raikou right after the 4th gym and caught it at full heath with a great ball. I took it as a sign to use it but only used it when the rest of my team caught up in levels

Yes definitely, I’m actually playing them to take a break from the Emerald frontier kek. I use Alakazam, Aerodactyl, Ludicolo, Metagross and Linoone (with belly drum extreme speed, got it from pokemon box) there. I already have all silver symbols and the battle pike and battle arena gold symbols - I technically have the battle tower one too but I "cheated" there by making backups of my save because I was sick of losing to RNG bullshit and having to do the fodder tiers all over again every time. I hope I won’t have to do that for the others since they usually don’t requires streaks as long as the tower one
