So why don't pokemon just die in battle? They shoot fire and lightning, they get hit by boulders the size of automobiles, they'll get frozen solid, and there's whatever the hell Hyper Beam is. Are these dramatic attacks not actually as strong as they seem? Are pokemon just that durable? Do pokemon have some inherent partial resistance to each other's attacks?
